I send an email once every six weeks or so, often with a reflection on scripture and faith striving both to aid preachers and engage readers who have no idea what the lectionary and liturgical year are (and don’t want to know). There will also be suggestions for listening and reading, including my writing and collaborations.

I’m engaged in an 18-month project of researching and writing a book about the Community of Christ, an ecumenical congregation planted in 1965 in Washington, D.C. Gathered and Scattered: The Life and Legacy of a Countercultural Christian Community (working title) details how an unusual model of church unfolded over the full course of its life, in this case 51 years.
